What Is Bing Places for Business?

Microsoft's equivalent of a Business Profile, powering Bing, Bing Maps, Yahoo, and more.

What it means

Bing Places for Business is Microsoft's free local listing product — it controls how your business appears not just on Bing search and Bing Maps, but also on Yahoo, Windows Search, the Edge browser, and Microsoft's Copilot.

Why it matters

It's easy to assume Google is the only listing that counts, but Bing's reach extends across an entire set of Microsoft products people use daily, including Copilot — an outdated or missing Bing Places listing can mean wrong information surfacing in more places than you'd expect.

ask datanephew

Can datanephew manage my Bing Places listing today?

Not yet — Bing Places support is on datanephew's roadmap. Today, datanephew can already help with Bing's search and webmaster data through the Bing Webmaster connector, which is separate from managing your listing.

Is Bing Places worth the effort if most of my customers use Google?

It costs little to set up and covers a meaningfully different set of surfaces, including Copilot, so it's worth having current even if it's not your primary source of traffic.
