What it means
When you search for something like "plumber near me," Google often shows a map with three highlighted businesses above the regular search results. That's the Local Pack, sometimes called the Map Pack or 3-Pack. Landing in it is one of the most valuable spots in local search, since it appears before any organic result.
Why it matters
Ranking well organically doesn't guarantee a Local Pack spot — it's driven by a different, more location-specific set of signals. A business can have a strong website and still be invisible in the Local Pack if its listing signals aren't in order.
