Wix SEO Settings Explained

The handful of Wix settings that control how your pages appear in search results.

Wix bundles most of the SEO controls you need into one panel per page, plus a site-wide SEO settings area. Getting the basics right here covers most of what small business sites actually need.

Steps

  1. In the Wix Editor, click a page and open its SEO settings (often labeled "SEO (Google)" in the page panel).
  2. Set the page title — this is what shows as the clickable headline in search results.
  3. Write a meta description summarizing the page in one or two sentences.
  4. Check the URL slug and make it short and readable if it isn't already.
  5. Use Wix's "SEO Wiz" or the site-wide SEO panel to check for sitewide issues like a missing sitemap or unindexed pages.
  6. Repeat page-level settings for your other important pages.
