Engaged Users vs. Engagement

Engaged users counts unique people who interacted with a post; engagement counts every interaction, including repeats.

What it means

Engaged users is the number of unique people who clicked, liked, commented, or shared a post. Engagement (or total engagement) counts every one of those actions, so if one person likes and comments, that's one engaged user but two engagements.

Why it matters

A post can show a big engagement number that's really coming from a handful of very active people, rather than broad interest. Looking at engaged users alongside engagement tells you whether reaction is spread across your audience or concentrated in a few commenters.

ask datanephew

Is my engagement coming from a lot of people or a few?

Ask datanephew to compare engaged users to total engagement on a post — a big gap between the two means a small group is doing most of the interacting.

Which of my recent posts actually engaged the most people?

Ask datanephew to rank your recent posts by engaged users rather than total engagement, so you're comparing reach of interaction, not repeat activity from the same fans.
