'Klaviyo "Metrics" (Events) & Triggers'

Klaviyo tracks subscriber behavior as "Metrics" — events like a purchase or a page view — that flows can trigger off of.

What it means

A Klaviyo Metric is any tracked event — "Placed Order," "Viewed Product," "Opened Email" — tied to a specific subscriber. Flows are built to trigger off these Metrics, so a Flow can start the moment someone views a product but doesn't buy, for instance.

Why it matters

Because Flows depend on Metrics firing correctly, a tracking gap — a missing integration, a broken event — can quietly stop a whole automation from triggering at all, with no obvious error to alert you. Understanding that Metrics are the actual trigger mechanism helps explain why a flow that "should" be sending isn't.

My abandoned cart flow doesn't seem to be sending — could this be why?

Ask datanephew to check the flow's recent performance and trigger volume — if very few or no emails are going out at all, it's worth checking whether the underlying Klaviyo Metric is tracking correctly.

Can datanephew tell me which events are driving the most flow activity?

Ask datanephew to compare send volume and performance across your flows — that can point to which triggering behaviors are most common among your subscribers.
