YouTube & Discover Ad Claims Policy

An extra set of creative rules that applies only to YouTube and Discover Feed ads.

What it means

Beyond the general ad-copy rules that apply everywhere, YouTube and Discover Feed ads face an additional layer of scrutiny around exaggerated or inaccurate claims: overnight-financial-success framing ("Make $5,000 in 5 minutes!"), misleading price or availability claims, language designed to create false urgency, and unsupported before-and-after health claims.

Why it matters

Because this policy overlaps in appearance with the general clickbait rule, it's easy to mix the two up — but they cover different creative. If a flag is specifically tied to a YouTube or Discover placement, this is the more likely rulebook behind it, and the fix is usually toning down the specific claim rather than a broader account issue.

Why did my video ad get flagged when my other search ads are fine?

Ask datanephew which placement and policy topic were cited. A YouTube- or Discover-specific claims flag is a narrower, creative-only issue rather than something affecting your whole account.
