"Assets" (Google) vs. "Ad Extensions" (Microsoft)
The same idea — extra info attached to your ad — but Google renamed it "assets" while Microsoft still calls them extensions.
What it means
Both platforms let you attach extra information to a basic ad — extra links, a phone number, your address, and more. Google renamed this feature from "ad extensions" to "assets" in 2022; Microsoft's documentation still uses the original "ad extensions" name. They're the same underlying idea across the two platforms, just labeled differently. There's no added cost for using them — you're only charged when someone actually interacts with the ad or asset.
Why it matters
If you manage campaigns on both platforms, it's easy to get thrown off searching for "extensions" in Google Ads or "assets" in Microsoft Advertising and coming up empty — the feature exists in both places, just under a different name.

I can't find "extensions" in my Google Ads account — where did they go?
Google renamed them to "assets." Ask datanephew to pull up your current assets — sitelinks, callouts, and the rest — under that newer name.
