Display Campaigns Are Moving to Demand Gen
Google is rolling out a tool to migrate standalone Display campaigns onto its Demand Gen format.
What it means
A Display campaign shows image and responsive ads across Google's Display Network, targeted by audience and placement. Starting in June 2026, Google is rolling out a migration tool that lets eligible advertisers move their existing Display campaigns onto Google Display Network inventory within the newer Demand Gen format, rather than shutting Display down all at once.
Why it matters
If you run Display campaigns, expect to see a migration option appear in your account rather than an abrupt cutoff — it's a phased, opt-in move rather than an overnight replacement, so there's time to understand the new format before switching.

Is Display advertising going away?
Not abruptly — Google is phasing Display into its Demand Gen campaign type through an in-account migration tool. Ask datanephew to check whether that migration option has appeared for your account yet.
