How to Verify Your Google Business Profile
The process Google uses to confirm you actually run the business before your listing goes live.
Verification is Google's way of making sure a listing is real before it shows up in search and Maps. Until you're verified, your profile stays largely invisible to customers.
Steps
- Create or claim your listing at google.com/business with your exact business name and address.
- Choose a verification method — Google usually offers postcard, phone, email, or video, depending on your business type.
- If it's postcard, wait for the mailed code (usually about a week) and enter it in your dashboard.
- Once verified, fill in your category, hours, and photos so the listing looks complete.
- Check back a few days later to confirm the listing appears when you search your business name.
